You are invited

You are invited to the Longest Night: Worcester Homelessness Memorial Service on December 21, the first day of winter. The memorial observance is part of the National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day that since 1990 has called attention to the tragedy of homelessness and those who have paid the ultimate price for our nation's failure to end homelessness.

The Worcester memorial events honor those who have died and call our community to recommit to the task of ending homelessness.

On December 21, Worcester Homelessness Memorial Day, we will gather at a 6:00 pm Memorial Service at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main Street, to remember our homeless neighbors who have died in 2005.

We will then process as a group to City Hall, where we will call for remembrance and action at a 7:00 pm Memorial Rally. Those who wish will keep a vigil presence until at least 12 midnight, to foster awareness of the ongoing homelessness issue in our community.

Please join us on December 21 – the Longest Night. Together we can make our communities safer and healthier for all.

Sincerely,

Worcester Homeless Action Committee, Worcester Interfaith, Real Solutions, Jeremiah's Inn, Willis Center, Dismas House, Community Healthlink, Central Mass. Housing Alliance, PIP shelter
