Temple Emanuel Brotherhood, established in 1927, has served Temple Emanuel and the Greater Worcester Jewish and non-Jewish Community for over 80 years! Year after year, we offer events that bring members of our community together for educational, religious, and social activities. In addition, whenever possible, we help the Temple with its special needs. For example, out of concern with the health and safety of the Temple’s many older members, we purchased a defibrillator and hosted one free CPR training session and will host a second this year. Our latest donation joined with a donation from member Neil Smith and provided Temple with a new, cutting edge sound system!
We need your help to continue creating those programs that bring joy, fellowship, spirituality, and information to each other, to all Temple families, and to the community at large. 

Temple Emanuel Brotherhood invites you to become, or continue to be, a member of our organization. Membership in Temple Emanuel is not a requirement for Brotherhood membership.

We want to build our membership numbers generally and get more people involved in planning and carrying out our activities. In addition to providing our members and the Temple community with the same high quality and enjoyable events that we have sponsored in the past, we continue our commitment to working with other Temple organizations, the Temple Board, its staff, and our clergy to do what we can to enhance Temple life and to help meet the many other needs of our Temple.

Here are some of events that Brotherhood is planning for the coming year:

• Sponsoring our annual Temple Sukkah decoration party and pot luck supper
• Fundraising for Temple needs (e.g. a new sound system to do our music justice)
• Working with the Temple’s Adult Education and Social Action Committee in organizing several Sunday brunch programs focusing on Jewish, political, and health themes
• Holding many social events, some with Temple’s Membership Committee, including several very entertaining Coffee House, Dessert, and Game Nights (with live music!), family events and a Worcester Tornados and/or Worcester Sharks road trip
• Leading our annual Brotherhood Shabbat service and providing February’s (brotherhood month) Shabbat volunteer assistants

The Brotherhood Scholarship Committee will continue its strong support of both Judaic and secular education. In addition to our annual college scholarships for incoming freshmen, we provide scholarships to children and teens in the Temple Emanuel youth program (WESTY), the Religious School, and the Early Education Center.
